Servicing

To maintain your BMWs performance, you must regularly service your vehicle. Newer BMWs are equipped with Condition-Based Service (CBS), meaning the vehicle will tell you when and what service you are due, by monitoring mileage, driving style, and the wear of components on your vehicle. For older vehicles without this technology, we would recommend the following :

  • Oil Service (Oil, Oil Filter, and Cabin Filter Replacement), every 12 months or 10,000 miles

  • Full Service (Oil, Oil Filter, Air Filter, Fuel Filter, or Spark Plugs Replacement), every 24 months or 20,000 miles

Brakes

Squealing and grinding noises when braking are signs that your brake pads may need changing. It is imperative you service your brake pads on time so you do not suffer a decrease in braking efficiency, cause premature wear on the brake discs, and ultimately endanger yourself and other road users.

Vehicles with CBS will alert you as you require your brake pads to be serviced. Brake pads typically last around 50,000 miles, depending on the driving style, but when the friction material is measured at 3mm, this would be the optimal time to replace them. Brake discs typically have a lifespan of 80,000 to 100,000 miles, depending on driving style, and require replacing once they reach the manufactures minimum thickness, which can be measured and assessed upon a service.

Diagnostics

Your vehicle is made up of various components and control units, some more complex than others. These all provide you with the utmost safety, comfort, and when necessary maximum performance. These systems are very reliable however, they can become faulty throughout your ownership. When they do, you may notice warning lights appear on your dashboard; it is essential not to ignore them to prevent further faults and damage to your vehicle.

We benefit from BMWs specific diagnostic software, where we can perform actions such as:

Apple Carplay

There are 3 ways to integrate Apple CarPlay into your vehicle; Activation, MMI Box, or Multimedia Android Unit. All solutions retain the operation of your original iDrive system. To find out if you have the required NBTevo software, follow the instructions below:

Navigation > Options button > Navigation Settings > Position and Version > Version Information

  • Activation: Integrates Apple Carplay into your vehicle as it would come from the factory. Only requiring a WIFI antenna for wireless capabilities, unless your vehicle is equipped with a personal hotspot. Only applicable to vehicles with NBTevo head units.

  • MMI Box: Additional unit installed behind the head unit or glovebox. This unit comes equipped with Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and the ability to Screen Mirror from your device. Applicable to vehicles without NBTevo head units.

  • Multimedia Android Unit: This unit replaces the original iDrive screen with a 10.25” touchscreen unit with built-in Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and the ability to screen mirror from your phone and download ANY app from Google Playstore. Applicable for most E & F series vehicles.

Dashcams

Having a Dashcam installed can provide detailed recordings of driving situations and vital evidence when an accident has happened. The BMW Advanced Car Eye 3 Pro has been designed to do all of the above and more. Key features include :

  • High-resolution QHD camera, full HD rear camera

  • Intelligent radar and sensor technology

  • Mobile app to view recordings

Programming

Programming is vital to keep your vehicle up to date. Like your mobile phones, there will always be software updates, providing you with fixes to any bugs, quality enhancements and in some cases, new features. We can additionally program individual components on your vehicle if, for instance, you needed to replace and reprogram a faulty control unit or if you wanted to upgrade Apple Carplay from split screen to full screen by programming the head unit.

Coding

 From the factory, your vehicle may have many options and features that have not been enabled. We can enable all these features to enhance your BMW experience. Depending on the vehicle model, year and equipment fitted, some options include but are not limited to :
